About the Authors:
Carrie is the Librarian for Digital Literacy and General Education at Drake University. Professionally, she’s interested in the influence of technology on culture and on the information-seeking behavior of academic library users, incorporating popular culture into undergraduate library instruction, and current trends in reference and information literacy. Personally, she loves to read, travel, and host dinner parties on her rooftop patio overlooking the downtown skyline. She’s been blogging and reviewing books at nomadreader for more than five years.
Heather is a Children’s Librarian, Young Adult and Technology Consultant for a large, northern suburban public library in the Chicagoland area. As a librarian, she is interested in seeking out new ways to connect with patrons, of making visiting the library- in person or online- a more enriching and welcoming experience. Personally, Heather adores books, has a weakness for manga and anime, and loves to spend time in the great outdoors.
Amy is the Reference and Instruction Librarian at Quinebaug Valley Community College in northeast CT. Her interests include design, the Humanities, and developmental education. She’s committed to open access higher ed, and rejects the placement of an “admissions floor” beneath any student that seeks knowledge.
Sarah is the Social Sciences Librarian at a small liberal arts college near Philadelphia, PA. While she has wide-ranging interests in librarianship, Sarah is particularly focused on instruction and developing library services that respond to community needs. Emily is a Learning Librarian at the University of Michigan, Shapiro Undergraduate Library. She’s interested in creating collections and services that meet the needs of the community she serves.
